Town Council picks filmmaker Spery for seat vacated by mayor

Newly appointed Jackson Town Councilor Alyson Spery sees her position on the city’s governing board as distinct from her fellow councilors, based on how she got there.

“While the four of you ran a campaign to garner the support of the community and the trust of the community, I have not had that opportunity,” Spery told council members during her Thursday interview. Those interviews were not streamed but were recorded and are now available at JacksonWY.gov.

“So I see this appointment as something different. I see it as a way to serve the positions that you have taken, to move those forward and to advance the work of this council.”
